Dr. Sarah Reed and Dr. Liba Pejchar are serving as "Best Practices Advisors" in Teton county, Wyoming to incorporation conservation design techniques into an update of the county's land-use code.
In 2013, Teton County held a series of workshops designed to develop new zoning concepts for conserving natural, scenic, and agricultural lands in the rural areas of Teton County. These concepts will ultimately become regulations, incentives, and programs that implement the community's Comprehensive Plan, which outlines a vision for Rural Areas that includes:
1. Preservation of large, contiguous open spaces
2. Preservation of key habitats, habitat connections, and scenic vistas
3. Preservation of agricultural heritage
